The Pit

Psalm 103:3-4

He forgives all my sins

and heals all my diseases

He redeems my life from the pit

and crowns me with love and compassion.

Who is He?  He is Jesus.  He forgives, He heals, He redeems (gives us our life back, His original design)

Notice we don’t really do anything, He does everything!

We have all found ourselves in some kind of pit – some kind of darkness – some kind of rock bottom. It may be:

Pit of poverty

Pit of pornography

Pit of prostitution

Pit of drug addiction or alcoholism

Pit of Selfishness

Pit of Abuse

Jesus retrieves us, He goes after us.  There is no pit too deep or too dark for our Savior. He is the great rescuer.

He also restores us – He cleans us up, we don’t have to clean ourselves up.  In fact, He will restore you to His original design and it is good.

He crowns us with love and compassion

No matter what kind of pit or rock bottom you find yourself in, Jesus will come down and retrieve you and restore you. He will heal you. He forgives all your sins

He will give you your life back and fill you with love and compassion.

If He does all that then what do we do?

  1. 1.      We realize and admit, we can’t get out of the pit by ourselves.
  2. 2.      We surrender our life to Christ and ask Him to take control.
  3. 3.      We thank Jesus for all He has done and all He is going to do.

Your Savior, Jesus is not intimidated by where you are or not looking to judge you on how you got there.  He just wants to save you, love you and show you the purpose He has for your life and allow Him to work through you to make it happen.  You know it’s going to be great.
