Who is your Daddy? (3 min. read)

1 John 3:1
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

God is our Father and has poured His extravagant, excessive, over the top, crazy love on us and brought us into His Family. We are sons and daughters of God and He is our Father. Nothing can change this truth. He made it happen, it’s all Him.
Bottom Line: We are His.

Our Father protects us – from the evil one.

Provides for us – our daily bread
Heals us – from all diseases
Comforts us – like only He can

When Jesus was in His worst hour, He called out to His Father. Abba! (means daddy)
I want to encourage you to let God be your Daddy.
Allow the love of the Father to go deep, to saturate every fiber of your being.
Turn to Him for the perfect comfort.
Run to Him when you fall down – He will make it better
Bring Him the broken parts of your life and He will fix it.
Share with Him your needs and watch Him provide.

My dad, Jim McVane, has Alzheimer’s, as a result of this disease, he has short term memory loss. Thank God He remembers who I am and we have good memories of our past family times. However, presently, he is unable to be there for me when I need a dad. That’s an adjustment for me so I have had to learn to turn to God as my Father. God promises to be The Father to the fatherless. (Psalm 68:5) God is faithful! He is a loving and available dad. No matter what my age my be, I still need a daddy, we all do. I’m grateful for my dad Jim, for all the love, encouragement and time. I am also happy I have my Heavenly Father, my forever Father.

I want to encourage you to allow God to be your Father. You are His child.

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us – He calls us children, that is who we are.

Go ahead, tell somebody who your daddy is. Honor the fathers in your life and start with your Heavenly Father. Happy Father’s Day!
