Hope (2 min. read)

Psalm 142:5 MSG
“I cry out, God, call out: ‘You’re my last chance, my only hope for life!'”

There are times I feel like without God, I’m doomed. Have you ever felt that way? I get to the point where I don’t know what else to do. It’s times like these when I feel like I’ve exhausted all other avenues. I tried my ideas, I asked others what they would do, I googled the internet looking for a solution and nothing. By now, I’m at my wits end.

It reminds me of the woman with the issue of blood. The Bible says she had that health problem for years and years. She went to every doctor, tried all the home remedies, spent all her money and no healing. Finally, she came to the conclusion, “If only I can get to Jesus.” I’m sure she thought, “if I can get into the presence of the One who heals, who saves, who delivers. Maybe, just maybe, there is hope for me.” When she made her way to Jesus, she was healed, she was made whole and her problem solved.

Personally, I wish I would get to Jesus quicker. I wish I would run and get on my knees before I picked up the phone or the computer. I wish I was quicker to trust The Holy Spirit to download my solution. I guess it’s our human nature, the sin nature that says, “You can do this.” The reality is that left on our own, we are a mess. With Jesus there is hope, without Him we have no hope. Let’s be like children and run to Our Father first, knowing He is our Hope, He has our answer and He will fix our problem.

Prayer Focus:
Jesus you are my only hope for life. Remind me Lord to run to you first for all my needs. Thank you for your faithfulness God. In Jesus Mighty Name we pray.
