Is It Enough? You Tell Me. (2 min. read)

Jesus shared this at His last meal with His disciples, his friends. He was referring to His blood that would be shed on the cross for our sins.

Jesus took an unbelievable beating that day.

The bible records that He was unrecognizable.

His flesh was torn & blood was coming out of him from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet.

He took on the sins of the world – my sins, your sins.
Our future sins of tomorrow
Our present sins of today
Our past sins of yesterday

He shed His blood so we could be forgiven and so we could have a relationship with our Heavenly Father.

He did this for you, for me and for all mankind.

Because we are forgiven, we can forgive others and ourselves.

What Jesus did on the cross is enough. Nothing else is needed. He said, “It is finished.” John 19:30

If we choose not to forgive others or ourselves, essentially what we are saying is, “Jesus what you did is not enough.” The blood shed- not enough, the beating- not enough.

As we all reflect upon Calvary and the sacrifice Jesus made, we can all agree – it is enough. We are forgiven by the blood that was poured out of our Savior. It’s enough for me, it’s enough for you and it’s enough for each of us to forgive the people in our lives.

We are forgiven. We can forgive others. Thank you Jesus for your shed blood on the cross for me.

Call to Action:

Remembering that condoning the offense against you and forgiveness is separate, is there someone you are having a difficult time forgiving? If so, I encourage you to meditate on Jesus’ journey to Calvary that led to his death for the forgiveness of your sins.
Then set that person and the pain or offense at the cross and thank God for His sacrifice and His power to forgive.
Pray a prayer of release, something like this: Father, In Jesus Name, I choose to forgive______, I thank you that you will line up my heart, feelings and thoughts with your will. I trust you Jesus and thank you. It is finished. In Jesus Name I pray.

One Response

  1. The ramifications of realizing that what Jesus suffered is enough to cover all of my past, present and future mistakes, mis-perceptions, physical difficulties and false thinking is amazing. It may take the rest of my life to realize how good I have it through Christ.
