Connected To Love (2min read)

1John 4:15-16a If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love.

This is a fascinating verse to me. It is so simple, though profound.

Verse 15: If anyone ACKNOWLEDGES that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God.

Can you imagine, if we simply acknowledge? Which means to recognize, express or take notice. Therefore, if we recognize that Jesus is the Son of God, express it in our heart and take notice in our minds, then He, God Himself, lives in you and me. Wow! That’s incredible. Boom, God lives in me because I acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God.

Because He lives in me and I in Him, I am totally connected to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and have access to all He has promised me. I have access to healing, because He says, “by His stripes I’m healed.” I have access to provision, because He says, “He will provide all my needs according to His riches and glory.” I have access to wisdom, because He says, “if I lack wisdom I should ask and He will give me all I need.” I have access to peace, because He is the prince of peace and He lives inside of me. This is so reassuring, it gives me so much confidence and peace and I don’t feel alone.

Verse 16: And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love.

This verse reminds me to relax and take a deep breath because everything is going to be all right. It’s all in God’s hands and He loves me. I can trust Him and depend on Him because He loves me. He has my best interest in mind because He loves me. Because God is love, He can’t do anything but love me. No worries here, God is in control and He loves me. I am deciding to relax this season and let God love me, care for me and meet my needs. I will simple acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God and He lives in me. He’s got me covered. He’ll do the same for you just acknowledge His presence.
Merry Christmas.

  1. Thanks for this post. We need a reminder of the promises found in those verses. My husband and I were with someone who is still questioning.
Don asked, “Do you know where wisdom and peace come from?” and the person said, “I suppose you would say God or Jesus.”
It was the beginning of acknowledgement !
